This December we had our annual holiday potluck, which served up a variety of eats, treats and of course magic. The theme of evening was, “tricks old and seldom seen.”. Our members dusted of their old props and went to work and here is what we saw: Charlie Gott showed us a magical package he received in the mail which delivered a silk with  an image of Jesus Christ, just in time for the holiday season.

Jeff Marcus showed us a different and rarely seen gimmick for the linking rings, no gap required.

Howard Harris passed solid through solid with the mystery of the Milson Wood Block Go.

Jack White entertained us with a passe passe routine using a bottle of wine and a glass tumbler while getting his young assistant (Kenny Shelton) drunk off wine (I’m sure it was just pretend.)

J. P. Jackson, evil wizard and antiquarian of magical props, tells us how he managed to acquire a magical mirror through his presentation of the glass through ribbon.

Ken DeWoody can’t get rid of his wiener no matter how hard he tries in his take of the magic hot dog trick.

Greg Wauson, Gary Dismukes and Alex Greenbaum amused us all with a variety of card effects.

Joe Mystic dressed up as a very convincing Santa Clause and did a Harry Potter themed trick with an old $3 dollar toy which he calls the Sorcerer’s Star.

New Honorary Lifetime Achievement award recipient Bob Pozner magically transformed an American  Eisenhower Dollar into a gold Chinese Dragon coin and back again.

I would also like to take a moment to congratulate another New Honorary Lifetime award recipient, Vi Freeland, who earned five trophies with her amazing dove act.  Hooray!!

I would like to take a moment to thank Terry Luncford, Richard Ustick, Jeff Marcus, Peg Marcus, Kenny Shelton, Don Soul and Donna Soul for their  help and hard work during the holiday potluck..
