San Diego businessman and amateur magician Sid Gerhart, became famous for his patent medicine "pitchman" style magic act. He was one of the original founding fathers of Ring 76, when it was re-chartered in November of 1958. From the late 1950’s until his death in 1975, Sid was the single person who held the club together in good times and bad. He loved everything that was magic and went out of his way to promote the art throughout the city and country. We have dedicated Ring 76 to his memory. It is known simply as: The Honest Sid Gerhart Ring.
