NO.76, San Diego, California - Honest Sid Gerhart Ring
Meets 6:30 PM 2nd Monday of the month at Jack’s Magic Place
4275 University Ave, San Diego CA
This November is truly a month to be thankful for. Members feasted on a variety of magic during a teach in session served by our fellow members:
Magic Castle performer Terry Lunceford delighted us with a three phase Malini egg bag routine based off a handling by magician Ken Brooks which uses two spectators.
Joe Mystic started his teach in by passing a string with two beads right thru a spectators arm. He then demonstrated a nice little transition effect with a length of rope and a silk, in where a silk is fairly knotted on a rope by a spectator he then plucked the knotted silk off the rope with the silk still knotted.
Michael Johnson entertained us with how his take on sponge rabbits where about 30 rabbits magically appear in the spectators hand, WOW!
Jeff Marcus shared his work with a convincing handling of the finger ring and string premise even when he has showing people how it was done they were still fooled
Kenny Shelton showed a couple of selfworking cards tricks in which the spectators themselves are the magicians doing all the work.
Bob Pozner taught us color changing knives starting with the basics clever vanish at theend. Bob closed his session by teaching the “spider vanish” one of the most powerful vanishes incoin magic.
But the main course for the month of November will be a lecture given by none other than 1982 FISM “Sleight of Hand” Gold Medal Winner Michael Ammar. Not to mention that twelve lucky members, including myself will get to see him perform an hour and a half long show prior to the lecture.
We are thankful indeed.
